Pieropan is a family-run Venetian winery located in the municipality of Soave, boasting over a century of history and tradition. The Garganega grapes come from the La Rocca vineyard, located 150 meters above sea level with a southwest exposure on the hill of Monte Rocchetta, close to the Scaligero Castle of Soave. Here, the vines, aged between 10 and 50 years, are organically grown and rooted in calcareous, marine soil rich in clay. The particular soil and climate conditions of this site guarantee the production of a wine with a unique character. After the manual harvest, carried out in several phases to ensure full ripeness of the bunches, fermentation begins in glass-lined concrete tanks and concludes in wood, where the finished wine then ages on its fine lees for approximately 15 months, before a further period of bottle aging. In the glass, the wine reveals an intense golden-yellow color and a rich, broad aromatic profile, characterized by fragrant notes of peach and dried apricot, exotic fruit, and sweet spices, followed by hints of honey and lightly toasted almonds. On the palate, it is round, smooth, and supple, with balanced acidity and a long, warm finish. It is a structured wine that lends itself to a variety of food pairings: it is excellent with oily fish, roast poultry, veal ossobuco, and mushroom- or pumpkin-filled ravioli.
