Located in the Veneto region, in the village of Soave, the Pieropan winery was founded in 1901 and is now managed by Dario and Andrea, the fourth generation of the family. The estate's vineyards extend over approximately 45 hectares in the Soave Classico wine district, not far from Lake Garda, the Lessini Mountains Regional Park, and the Veneto Dolomites. The Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave grapes come from the company's historic Calvarino vineyard, facing west and located between 200 and 300 meters above sea level. Here, the organically farmed vines are rooted in basaltic volcanic soil and enjoy a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place in stainless steel, and the wine ages on the lees for approximately 12-15 months in glass-lined concrete tanks. The result is a fresh and lively wine with a bright straw-yellow color. On the nose, it reveals a broad and mature aromatic profile with floral notes of jasmine and hawthorn, citrus and tropical fruit, and Golden Delicious apple, with hints of toasted hazelnut. On the palate, it is crisp, clean, and elegant, with a well-balanced acidity and a long, delicately savory finish. It is a food-friendly wine: try it with shellfish and sushi, vegetable tempura, pea risotto, or cheese soufflé.
