Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant. Located in the prestigious French wine region of Burgundy, Domaine Seguin-Manuel boasts a history spanning over 200 years. However, it wasn't until 2004 that Thibaud Marion acquired the estate. Since then, he has carried out a renovation that included the purchase of additional vineyards and the obtaining of organic certification. Today, the estate makes a wide range of highly regarded, traditional-style Burgundy wines. The Chardonnay grapes come from a vineyard located in the village of Viré, in southern Burgundy, north of Mâcon. Here, the old vines are planted on clay-limestone hillsides. After harvest and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats, the wine ages on the lees in oak barrels for approximately nine months. The Vire-Clesse Domaine Seguin-Manuel is a straightforward and easy-to-drink wine. In the glass, the wine reveals a golden color and a fresh aromatic profile with fragrant notes of stone fruit and plums, supported by mineral hints. On the palate, it is expressive and fruity, juicy and concentrated, with a lively, refreshing acidity. The finish is long and recalls the mineral nuances typical of the Vire-Classe appellation. Served chilled, it is ideal as an elegant aperitif with vegetarian amuse-bouche, Mediterranean appetizers, and seafood.
