Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. The wine areas of the Greek winery Domaine Costa Lazaridi extend across the landscapes of the Drama wine area, in which the company, with the help of the flying oenologist Michel Rolland produces excellent white, red and rosé wines from native and international grapes. Widely regarded as one of Greece's finest red wines, Amethystos Cava was first produced in 1991. Cabernet Franc grapes are selected from old vines, planted on rocky clay soils. The finished wine ages for 18 months in new French oak barrels and approximately the same amount of time in the bottle before being put on the market. This Cabernet Franc has a dark and deep red color. The nose reveals a complex profile made of notes of violets, currants, and plum jam, followed by aromas of mint, cedar, and toasted bread. On the palate, it is a powerful and decisive wine but also very balanced. The tannins are firm but not gripping and harmonized by an intense concentration of fruit. It is a solid wine that shows excellent aging potential. Try it with sirloin, roast lamb, goat cheese, and also with some Indian recipes like curry.
